It is also thought to work by up-regulating specific brain proteins which are associated with improved memory.
According to a 2012 study published in Neurobiology of Aging, the authors suggested that the ability of this supplement to reduce inflammation may be one of the key factors in terms of preserving cognitive function. Additionally, it is thought that Pterostilbene is effective at preventing the loss of Dopamine from memory centers.

Information regarding side effects relating to Pterostilbene are currently difficult to find, primarily because there are not any known recorded side effects caused by Pterostilbene at this time. It is still important to only start with a low dose and work up from there, but it is incredibly safe and there is a low risk of any negative outcomes.
The optimal dosage range for Pterostilbene is generally considered to be in between 50 and 250 mg per day. The best way to take this supplement is in two divided doses, morning and then mid to late afternoon.
